Colorado Springs, Colo.-----For the second year in a row, ROOT Sports based in Denver, Colo., will televise the San José State University-University of New Mexico football game. The Spartans open up Mountain West action with the Lobos, Saturday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. (MT)/1:00 p.m. (PT) at University Stadium on the University of New Mexico campus.
ROOT Sports, a subsidiary of DirecTV, is available on DirecTV Channels 674 and 683 and DISH Network Channels 414 and 426.
San José State won last year's game against New Mexico, 31-21. The Spartans also were victorious the last time they played in University Stadium. San José State posted a 20-12 victory over New Mexico in the inaugural New Mexico Bowl.
The Spartans have 17 returning starters and 36 overall letterwinners from the 2015 team that outlasted the Lobos and eventually would triumph in the inaugural Auto Nation Cure Bowl over Georgia State.
San José State now has 10 of its 12 regular season games assigned to either a national or regional television outlet. Only the September 10 home game vs. Portland State and the October 8 Homecoming game vs. Hawaii remained unassigned to a television outlet.
