June 6, 2016

CLOVIS, Calif. – San José State University National Letter-of-Intent signee Jennifer Sandoval from Summit High School in Fontana, Calif., finished fifth in the 3200m at the 2016 California Interscholastic Federation (C.I.F.) California State High School Track & Field Championships.

Sandoval had a time of 10:26.06 on the Veterans Memorial Stadium track in Buchanan High School on June 4. She accounted for all of her school’s points to help Summit High finish in 50th place at the championships.

A week earlier, Sandoval finished second at the CIF-SS Masters Meet at Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif., with a personal record time of 10:20.90. That is the 16th fastest high school time in the nation this year in the 3200m and eighth fastest among seniors.

Sandoval is set to join the San José State cross country and track & field teams this coming fall.
