Add another accolade to the long list of achievements for Spartan-to-be Destiny Longmire.
The track and field star from Rancho Verde High School has been selected to the Girls Long Jump All-American Team by the highly-regarded MileSplit.com. Longmire signed a National Letter-of-Intent to join the San José State track & field team beginning this fall.
"Destiny had an outstanding senior season, both in the long jump and the 100 meters," said Spartans' director of track & field Jeff Petersmeyer. "We are proud of all she has accomplished and are looking forward to her career here as a Spartan."
Longmire's jump spanning 20 feet, seven inches in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championship prelims is second in the nation among high school seniors. Longmire went on to finish third place in the state finals.
Her success at the state championship came after she was the Inland Empire League and CIF-South Section long jump champion.
