San Diego, Calif.-Spartan volleyball player Hana Tresnáková led San José State with 14 kills, while Summer Avery recorded 10 kills as the Spartans fell to UC Santa Barbara, 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-22), Saturday afternoon at the USD/SDSU Invitational.
Breann Robinson recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 28 assists and 10 digs. Luiza Andrade led the team in digs with 11 and added three assists and a service ace, while Jamie Hira had 10 digs.
The team recorded 9.5 blocks during the match, led by Thaliana Grajeda with five block assists. Tresnáková added four blocks - one solo and three assists, while Robinson had two solo blocks and a block assist.
The Spartans finished the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 7-5 record, the second consecutive season with a winning record among non-conference opponents. The team opens Mountain West play on Thursday, September 22, at Wyoming beginning at 6:30 p.m. MST.
