SJSU Athletics Adds To Compliance & Student Services Staffs

Sept. 22, 2016 Jacquelyn Duysen and Jessica Atthowe recently accepted compliance and student services positions in the San Jose State University athletics department. Duysen (pronounced Die-sun) is the new Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Atthowe (pronounced At-how) is the new Compliance and Student Services Coordinator. San Jose State University Director of Athletics Gene Bleymaier made the announcement.

"We welcome Jacquelyn and Jessica to San Jose State. They are experienced professionals that will help our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans enjoy their experience here while complying with NCAA, conference and university rules," says Bleymaier.

Duysen joins the Spartans after serving two years in the Stanford University athletics department. She held administrative positions in compliance and finance matters for the Pac-12 Conference school.

The 2006 University of Washington graduate majored in business administration. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco in 2012.

Her first professional position in intercollegiate athletics was at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Hired as a compliance assistant in 2012, she was promoted to the department's Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance in 2013.

Atthowe comes to San Jose State after spending the 2015-16 academic year in the San Diego State University athletics compliance department.

The 2012 Menlo College graduate was an honorable mention all-conference volleyball player. A transfer from Golden West College, she ranks fifth on the Menlo list for career assists despite playing just two seasons. Atthowe earned a master's degree in education, intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington in June 2016.
