Men's Golf At Golfweek Conference Challenge This Weekend

San Jose, Calif. - The San José State men's golf team returns to action this week in Burlington, Iowa at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, hosted by the University of Iowa. The three-day tournament, September 30 through October 2, will be contested on the 7,550-yard Spirit Hollow Golf Course which is ranked second in the state of Iowa by Golf Digest and Golf World. The par-72 course features 15,000 trees and natural streams, which snake through 11 of course's fairways.

Competing for the Spartans: Scott Munger, Kevin Velo, Will Barnett, Matt Murray, Sean Talmadge.

Last Time Out: The Spartans last competed at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate (September 12 and 13) where they placed 14th.

Previously at The Golfweek Conference Challenge: This will be the fourth time in the last five years the Spartans have competed in the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Last year the team came in 10th place. In the 2012-13 the Spartans finished tied for 11th and their best finish was in the 2014-15 where they finished in seventh place.
