Men's Water Polo Takes On #2 Cal

Sept. 29, 2016

San Jose, Calif. -- The San José State men's water polo team will face No. 2-ranked California this Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m. in a non-conference match at the Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley, Calif.

SJSU head coach Bruce Watson is excited for the challenge.

"Cal is one of the best teams in the nation and we look forward to getting to play them," said Watson. "As a young team, every contest (against a ranked opponent) adds to our growth and improvement and lets us know what it will take to get to that level."

Davor Koret has notched 12 goals on the season and is the leading goal scorer for the Spartans, who are facing their seventh ranked opponent in 11 matches.

The Bears are led by 2015 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Newcomer of the Year, Johnny Hooper. The sophomore attacker has tallied 37 goals this season.

General admission tickets can be purchased on site at the Spieker Aquatics Complex ticket booths.
