Santa Barbara, Calif. -- San Jose State men's water polo came out strong but couldn't keep up with #7-UC Santa Barbara under the lights on UCSB's campus on Friday, October, 14.
"The guys played really hard and were competitive against a really good team in a hostile environment," said SJSU head coach Bruce Watson. "Our baby steps are getting bigger."
Ben Hauschild led all scorers with 4 goals on the night and TJ Palmer had a productive yet busy night in the cage.
"Finn Pardon and Ben Hauschild played super", said Watson. "Davor Koret and TJ Palmer also played well for us."
The Spartans (2-11) return to the pool Saturday, October 15 for two matches. They take on Whittier (11-7) at 10:30 a.m. and La Verne (2-11) at 1:00 p.m.
