MALIBU, Calif. - After winning her first two matches, San Jose State University senior Marie Klocker lost to Ryann Foster of LSU, 6-4, 6-1 in the third round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships women's tennis pre-qualifying singles draw.
"Marie ran into a very strong player who was able to take control of the points early," said San Jose State head coach Chad Skorupka. "We will have a light practice tomorrow and are looking forward to the doubles draw on Tuesday."
Klocker was down 5-2 in the first set and able to come back to 5-4 before dropping the set 6-4. She now turns her attention to the qualifying doubles draw with teammate Sybille Gauvain. Their first match in doubles play is on Tuesday, October 4.
