Oct. 5, 2016 Senior men's cross country runner Ben Branagh and senior women's golfer My Leander are the Spartan Foundation Student-Athletes of the Month for September, presented by O'Conner Hospital.My Leander won her first collegiate title with a four-under 210 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic to start the season. She followed that up with a second-place finish at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational with a two-under 214. Leander's eagle and 21 birdies helped lower her stroke average to 70.67 over six rounds in September. She fired a 68-70-138 (-6) on the opening day of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, which was also her birthday.Senior Ben Branagh led the Spartans with a third place finish at the San Francisco Invitational (8K). He finished the course in 24:40.5, his career-best in three races at the event. Branagh beat out all of the entries from Stanford and all but two from California.
