Lumberjack Diving Invitational Results
Colleen Humel earned her second NCAA Championships "B Cut" and Marley Maluafiti swam in her second championship final on the third and final day of the A3 Performance Invitational women's swimming meet.
Humel swam 1:59.11, .08 better than the 1:59.19 standard for NCAA Championships consideration. Earlier in the meet, she met the "B" cut standard for next year's 2017 NCAA Championships in the 100 back.
"We had a tough prelims session (on Saturday), but rallied to a much stronger finals session this evening," said San Jose State women's swimming and diving head coach Sage Hopkins. "Overall I'm very pleased with our meet performance and really looking forward to preparing for our next phase of the season."
Maluafiti was seventh in the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.29.
Four San Jose State divers wrapped their final day at the Lumberjack Invitational. Freshman Natasha Sondeno had the quartet's best finish with a fifth in the platform event. Her 202.10 score is good for fourth on the school's career top-10 list.
San Jose State returns to action, Saturday, December 3, in a dual meet with UC Santa Cruz and Cal Lutheran in Santa Cruz.
