Colorado Springs, Colo.- San José State junior middle blocker Nandyala Gama has been named to the honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference volleyball team today, as selected by the conference's head volleyball coaches.
Gama led the 2016 Spartans in blocking in MW matches with 76, 1.19 per set, and in all matches with 137, 1.23 per set. She recorded the second-highest season block assists total in San José State history with 128. Her 137 total blocks are tied for the sixth-best single-season total. Gama ends her third season with 241 career block assists, good for 10th on the San José State career block assists list.
Gama is the third San José State player to receive all-conference accolades, following Tyanna Roy (honorable mention, 2015) and Hanah Blume (All-MW team, 2013).
San José State finished the 2016 season with a 12-18 overall record and 5-13 MW record.
