Men's Basketball Signs Rising Star Wingman Noah Baumann

Rising star wingman Noah Baumann has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to compete for the San José State University men's basketball team beginning in the 2017-18 season. Head coach Dave Wojcik made the announcement."Noah will be an outstanding addition to our program," Wojcik said. "He has exceptional talent. His versatile skill set and demeanor will fit perfectly with how we are building our roster for years to come."The 6-foot-5 Baumann is getting ready for his senior campaign at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Ariz., the alma mater of current Spartan Brandon Clarke. Baumann and Clarke were teammates in 2014-15 when Desert Vista finished 26-5, went to the Division 6A championship game and ended the year ranked No. 2 in the state of Arizona by MaxPreps.In his most recent year of AAU ball with Powerhouse Hoops, Baumann averaged 16.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists over a 33-game campaign. He was a Powerade All-American Camp invitee, and competed in the West Coast Elite (WCE) Summer Classic Top-20 game.At the conclusion of his AAU summer circuit under head coach John Ortega, The Arizona Republic listed Baumann on its Tantalizing 10: Emerging high school basketball players list. Baumann's senior season at Desert Vista begins in late November under head coach Gino Crump.
