Nov. 9, 2016

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State men's water polo heads to Stockton, Calif. this Friday night, November 11, to take on the fifth-ranked team in the nation, Pacific.

"Pacific will be tough at home but our guys are getting better every game," said SJSU head coach Bruce Watson. "It will be a good test to see where we are in our development."

The Spartans (7-18, 0-4) had a tough weekend last weekend with losses to #7-Long Beach State, #1-UCLA and #2-USC. San José State closes out a five game run in which they've faced five of the nation's top ten teams.

The Tigers (16-6, 3-1) took down #6-Stanford, 11-10, their last time in the pool.

Freshman Ben Hauschild has emerged as a solid player for the Spartans this season, notching the fourth most steals in the nation and hitting the back of the net seven times in conference play - tied for sixth most in the conference.

Last weekend against #1-UCLA, freshman goalie Conrad Gordon recorded a career high 14 saves, three of which were 5-Meter penalty shots.

The match on Friday will be streamed live on the University of the Pacific website at 7 p.m. Live stats will also be available here.
