Women's Gymnastics Season-High 195.200 In Win Over Sacramento State

San José, Calif.-- The San José State women's gymnastics team saved its best meet of the year for the Pink Meet as the Spartans scored a season-best 195.200 to win a meet over Sacramento State (193.900) Friday night at The Event Center.

The Spartan team score of 195.200 ties for the 16th-best score in school history and is the top score in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation this year.

Three Spartans claimed event titles in the win. Taylor Chan and Stephanie Relova each scored a career-best 9.850 to win their first beam titles. Chan also scored a season-best 9.875 on floor to win her second title of the meet. Kaitlin Won captured her second consecutive all-around title with a 39.075, her third 39.000+ score in the past four meets.

The Spartan beam led the way Friday night with a season-high 49.025, tying for the fourth-highest beam score in school history. After Chan and Relova, Chelsey Andrada had a season-high 9.800, followed by Won at 9.775, Alisa Bogdan at 9.750 and Michelle Shalit at 8.950.

The floor team recorded a 49.000 to finish out the night, the second 49.000+ score this season. Chan led the team with her career-best 9.875, followed by Ellie Pascoe-Long at 9.825, Won at 9.800, Madison Loomis at 9.775, Andrada at 9.725 and Erica Matos at 9.675.

The bars team put up another solid score at 48.675, led by Won at 9.800. Haleigh Shepard tied her career-high with a 9.750, while Relova had a 9.725. Kaprece Nadonza and Rachel Heinl each scored a 9.700, while Kendal Watts rounded out the scoring with a 9.675.

The vault team started the Spartans off with a 48.500. Chan and Matos led the team at 9.750, then Nadonza at 9.725, Won at 9.700, Heinl at 9.575 and Shepard at 9.425.

The Spartans go on the road next week to Air Force for a meet on Saturday, February 18, beginning at 6 p.m. MST.
