Colorado Springs, Colo.-San José State senior women's golfer My Leander has been named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week for her performances at the Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford this past weekend.
Leander finished the tournament tied for fifth place at two-over 144, her third top-five finish in five tournaments played this season. She shot an even-par 71 in the first round which featured her carding 11 consecutive pars before making back-to-back birdies. In the second round, Leander shot a two-over 73 including 14 pars and a birdie.
For the tournament, Leander made 26 pars and four birdies over the 36 holes. She helped the Spartans to finish fourth in the 12-team field.
San José State next plays at The Gold Rush February 27 and 28 at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif.
