San Jose, Calif.-San José State women's gymnast Taylor Chan has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Freshman Women's Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Chan led the Spartans last Saturday night to a 194.950 team score in a win at Air Force. She won the floor title as she tied her career best with a 9.875. She added a 9.800 on beam to tie for third on a 9.700 on vault. Chan was part of the beam team that scored a 48.975, the second-highest this season and tying for sixth-best beam score in school history.
San José State competes this Friday, February 24, in a quadrangular meet hosted by UC Davis. The Spartans will compete against the Aggies, Sacramento State and Seattle Pacific beginning at 7 p.m.
