San Jose, Calif. - The San José State women's basketball team scored a season-high 107 points in its victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack to open Mountain West play back on December 29. On Tuesday, SJSU goes for the season sweep and a chance to improve its seeding in next week's conference championship tournament.

SPARTANS BATTLING FOR THE 6, 7 or 8 SEED IN LAST TWO GAMES
With two games left in the regular season, San José State is locked into either the six, seven or eighth seed in next week's Mountain West Conference Championship Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Spartans know they will play on Monday, it is just a matter of what seed the team will get, when they play and who they will face. Also locked into the six though eighth seeds with San Jose State are Fresno State (sixth) and Utah State (seventh).
The scenarios will become clearer after Tuesday's games but if SJSU remains in the eighth seed, where they are heading into the game at Nevada they would open the tournament with a 2:00 p.m. tipoff against the number nine seed. If they move up to the seventh seed, they tip at 4:30 p.m. against the 10th seed and if the reach the sixth seed they would play the 11th seed at 7:00 p.m. Currently Nevada, San Diego State and Air Force occupy the ninth, tenth and 11thseeds, respectively. Those three are locked in to those seeds
RAMOS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN PROHOOPS COMBINE
SeniorDezz Ramos (Sr., PG, West Valley, Utah) has accepted an invitation to the ProHoops Combine, which is the premier combine for potential professional basketball players. WNBA coaches and general managers, agents and foreign coaches will be on hand to evaluate players in preparation for the draft and foreign team opportunities. The combine will be conducted in conjunction with the Women's NCAA Final Four on April 1 in Dallas, Texas.
CRAIGHEAD GETS 100th CAREER VICTORY IN WIN AT AIR FORCE
With the team's 83-67 victory at Air Force (2/18), head coach Jamie Craighead reached the 100-win plateau for her career. It is her 49th win at SJSU, tying her with Karen Smith (1993-99) for third place on the program all-time wins list. The late Janice Richard (1999-2006) ranks second with 93 wins and Sharon Chatman (1977-86), with 143 victories, is the all-time leader in wins as a had coach and is the only coach in SJSU women's basketball with a winning record (143-121/.542).
The Air Force victory was the team's 10th of the year. In each of Craighead's four seasons at San José State, she has led the team to double digit wins...Why is that notable? Other than Richard and Craighead, no head coach has led the Spartans to at least 10 wins in three consecutive seasons, let alone four seasons. Richard did it in six straight (2001-06) and Chatman had back-to-back 10+-win seasons on two occasions.
RAMOS QUICKEST TO 1,000 POINTS IN SJSU HISTORY
SeniorDezz Ramos (Sr., PG, West Valley, Utah), with 14 points against New Mexico (2/4), became the 16th player in program history to score 1,000 points in her Spartans' career. Ramos reached the milestone in 51 games, four games quicker than Lora Alexander. Ramos and Alexander are the only two Spartans to score at least 1,000-career points in their first two seasons in a Spartans jersey. Alexander, an SJSU Hall of Fame honoree, scored 1,019 points in 56 career games. Ramos currently has 1,177 points and at least three games left in her SJSU career. At her current scoring pace (23.3 ppg), she should slip into the program's top-10 in career scoring at Nevada (2/28).
FOUR TO BE HONORED ON SENIOR NIGHT
The Spartans final home game of the 2016-17 season against Wyoming (3/3) will mark the last time four Spartans will suit up in the White, Gold and Blue on Walt McPherson Court. In pre-game ceremonies Dezz Ramos (Sr., PG, West Valley, Utah), Paris Baird (Sr., F, Van Nuys, Calif.), Jasmine Smith (Sr., F, Burbank, Calif.) and Rachol West (Sr., G, Bakersfield, Calif.) will be honored.
