Bandon, Ore.--- The San José State University men's golf team rose one spot to tie for 12th place after play in round two at the Bandon Dunes Championship. The Spartans shot a 16-over par 304 in round two, and have a total two-day score of 21-over par 597 on the Old MacDonald Golf Course.
In a 90-player field, Kevin Velo, was one of the 15 players to shoot under par in round two. In the second round, Velo shot a four-under par 68. He is currently in 3rd place with a total two-day score of six-under par 138.
In the months of February, and March Velo is averaging a Spartan best 70.75 strokes per round.
Scott Munger is tied for 61st place after shooting five-over par 77 in round two. He is currently eight-over par in the tournament with a total score of 152.
Tied at 68th is Matthew Murray who has a total score of nine-over par 153.
William Barnett is tied for 81st at 13-over par 157, and behind him is Henrik Sholberg tied for 83rd at 14-over par 158.
Oregon is on top of the team leaderboards at 16-under par with a 10-stroke lead over Texas Tech.
Ahead of San José State University's Kevin Velo is second place Ryan Gronlund from Oregon, and first place Hannes Ronneblad from Texas Tech. Gronlund is seven-under par, and Ronneblad is eight-under par.
