San Jose, Calif.-San José State women's gymnast Taylor Chan has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Gymnastics Freshman of the Week for the seventh time this season and fifth consecutive week.
Chan tied for first on floor with a 9.900 last week in a meet at Arkansas with Centenary on March 10. It was her fifth consecutive week with at least a share of the floor title and enters the championship meet this Saturday as the MPSF's leader on floor with a 9.875. Chan also placed fourth in the vault with a 9.800.
This Saturday, Chan and the Spartans host the 2017 MPSF Women's Gymnastics Championships at The Event Center. The meet begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 4:45 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by calling the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589).
