RENO, Nev. - In the rubber match of the series, San Jose State lost to Nevada 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Peccole Park.

After going down 3-0 in the third inning to the Wolf Pack (11-26, 7-11 MW), the Spartans (13-20-1, 7-9-1 MW) got two runs back in the top half of the fourth. Freshman Anders Davidson (1-for-3, 2 RBI, BB) hit a two RBI single with two outs to make it a 3-2 game.

For Davidson, it was his first collegiate hit and RBI in his first Spartan start. His single up the middle scored Kyle Morrison (1-for-4, R) and Kyle Blakeman (1-for-2, R, BB, HBP).

The one-run margin is the closest SJSU would get. Nevada would score two runs to make it 5-2 in the fifth against Spartan relievers Jaiden France and Graham Gomez on three hits and a hit batsman.

The Wolf Pack added an insurance run in the eighth for the final margin of score, 6-2.

Nevada out hit the Spartans 15-6 in the game with every batter in the lineup getting at least one hit. The Spartans got a hit each from six players, including Shane Timmons who extended his consecutive bases reached streak to 21 games.

Spartans starter Joseph Balfour (0-1) was saddled with the loss while the Wolf Pack starter Riley Ohl (3-1) was credited with the win.
