Sugar Grove, Ill.-After a very successful senior season, San José State women's golfer My Leander has been named a Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Honorable Mention All-American honoree.
This season, Leander set the school record for stroke average at 71.27. The 2016-17 Mountain West Women's Golf Player of the Year was a two-time first team All-MW selection. Leander won two tournaments this season - Ptarmigan Ram Classic and Meadow Club Intercollegiate. She shot 17 of her 30 rounds under par and had six other par rounds. Leander finished in the top-10 in eight of the 11 tournaments played in 2016-17.
Off the course, Leander is graduating this week with her bachelor's degree in industrial design.
Leander joins the list of 18 other San José State players to receive All-American honors.
