Baseball Travels To GCU For A Two-Game Midweek Series

Game Notes - Grand Canyon

PHOENIX - The San José State University baseball team plays its next six games against non-conference opponents starting with a two-game series against the Grand Canyon University Lopes on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10 in Phoenix, Ariz. The Spartans are 7-13 against non-conference opponents this season.

SJSU leads the all-time series against GCU, 4-1. The two schools first met in 1997 at GCU when the Spartans swept the three-game series. Nineteen years later in 2016, the teams met again, this time in San Jose where they split the two-game series.

After the GCU series, SJSU plays a four-game series against the University of San Francisco from Friday, May 12 to Monday, May 15 to close out the non-conference schedule. The first two-games of the series will be played at San Francisco while the last two will be at San Jose.
