San José State volleyball fans can see the Spartans in action will be this Saturday, August 19, at the Blue vs. Gold Scrimmage inside Spartan Gym beginning at 2:30 p.m. Come see if head coach Jolene Shepardson can lead the Gold team to another win!
Today, the team was picked eighth in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches Poll. The Spartans are one point ahead of New Mexico in the poll and ahead of Fresno State and Air Force. Colorado State garnered eight first-place votes to land in the top spot, while defending champion Boise State is picked second with three first-place votes.
San José State finished 2016 with a 12-18 overall record and 5-13 MW mark.
The Spartans open the 2017 season with a match against Pepperdine on Friday, August 25, at 7 p.m., inside Spartan Gym. Admission is free to all Spartan matches. Prior to the SJSU match, two other matches will be played – Pepperdine vs. Utah Valley at 2 p.m. and Fresno State vs. Utah Valley at 4:30 p.m.
