Men's Golf In 13th Place at GolfWeek Conference Challenge

Cedar Rapids, Iowa--- The San José State University men's golf team completed round one of the GolfWeek Conference Challenge in 13th place at seven-over par 295. 12 of the 15 teams in the field finished their round over par on the par 72, 7,112 yard Donald Ross Course at Cedar Rapids Country Club.

Leading the Spartans is Senior Scott Munger tied for 13th place at one-under par 71. He is the only Spartan under par.

Kevin Velo is tied for 21st shooting an even-par 72. Sean Yu is tied for 39th at two over par 74. Sean Talmadge is tied for 69th at six-over par 78. Vijay Srinivasan is in 74th at 10-over par 82 in his first round as a Spartan.

Leading the tournament is North Carolina State with a nine-stroke lead over second place Iowa. On top of the player's leaderboard is Stephan Franken of North Carolina State who shot a six-under par 66.
