Laramie, Wyo.- Giulia Gávio and Nandyala Gama led San José State in kills but the Spartans hit only .022 in a 3-0 loss (25-20, 25-20, 25-17) at Wyoming Saturday afternoon.
Gávio and Gama each recorded eight kills in the loss, but Gávio hit -.129 (8-12-31) and Gama hit .182 (8-4-22). Thaliana Grajeda recorded five kills, while Laura Parts added four kills.
Breann Robinson led the team in blocking with a solo block and block assist. She also had 25 assists and two aces. Luiza Andrade had team-bests of seven digs and three service aces.
Wyoming outblocked the Spartans 12-3, and the Cowgirls hit .375 for the match. Emily Lewis and Tara Traphagan each had nine kills to lead all hitters.
San José State returns home for the rest of the month. The team hosts Nevada on Tuesday the 17th at 6 p.m., followed by Air Force on the 19th at 6 p.m., Fresno State on the 26th at 6 p.m., and San Diego State on the 28th at 2 p.m.
