"I thought we showed great heart and grit today. It was a tough golf course under difficult conditions. Other than a few big numbers, we played well. Fifth place at this tournament is a very strong showing," said San José State head coach John Dormann.
UCLA won the team title after shooting a nine-under 275 in the final round to finish at three-under par, three shots better than host Stanford. Northwestern was third at +13, followed by California at +28.

The Spartans take a couple of days off and then are right back on the road. The team plays at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown next week, October 22-24. First round action begins Sunday with a shotgun start at noon.
