El Paso, Texas--- The San José State University men's golf team finished 11th place at Price's Give Em Five Invitational. In the last round of the tournament, the team shot 18-over par 302. The Spartans shot 40-over par 288+302+302=892 through three rounds of play.
Kevin Velo tied for 37th at nine over par 222. Velo shot four-over par 75 in the last round.
Sean Talmadge tied for 46th at 11-over par 224. Bryce Wortman finished 12-over par 225 in his first tournament as a Spartan. Sean Yu finished 13-over par at 226 tied for 55th. Vijay Srinivasan tied for 63rd at 16-over par 229.
Playing individually, not contributing to the team score was Ben Campbell and Matthew Murray. Campbell shot par in the last round to have the best Spartan score on the day. He finished the tournament at 13-over par 226 tied in 55th place. Matthew Murray tied for 69th at 17-over par 230.
Texas El Paso won the tournament with a ten-stroke lead over #24 Marquette. UTEP had a total score of 13-over par 839.
Marquette's, Hunter Eichhorn, went low in the final round to win the tournament over UTEP's Charles Corner. In round three Eichhorn shot six-under par 65 to win the tournament.
