"Once we found our desire to play today, we had a very nice round. We started off slow, then found our rhythm and started making birdies. Alex caught fire making those birdies on the back-nine. Elizabeth managed her round well and made some nice up-and-downs to save pars early in her round. She gave us another solid effort.

"Tomorrow, we just have to put the ball in the right places on this course to give us a chance to make our putts," said Spartan head coach John Dormann.

Third round action begins Wednesday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The Spartans will play with UNLV and Missouri for the second day beginning on holes 1, 2, and 3.
