San Jose, Calif.-The San José State volleyball team fell to San Diego State, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West match at Spartan Gym.
The Spartans hit just .162 in the loss. Fernanda Vido led all hitters with 14 kills, while Nandyala Gama added 10 kills and hit .292 for the match.
Jamie Hirai led the defense with nine digs as seven of the 10 Spartans who appeared in the match recorded at least two digs. Thaliana Grajeda and Breann Robinson led the blocking attack with three each.
The Spartans had the lead at least one time in each set, but the Aztecs led by point 21 in each set.
The Aztecs were led by Alexis Cage with 12 kills as the team hit .271. Hannah Turnlund added 11 kills for SDSU.
San José State goes back on the road next week for matches at New Mexico on Thursday, November 2, and at UNLV on Saturday, November 4.
