No. 18 Men's Water Polo Battles Three Top-25 Teams This Weekend

San Jose, Calif.--- The San José State University men's water polo team (5-6) will travel south to Irvine, California to face No. 6 UC Irvine (9-4) Friday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m.

The Spartans will then travel to Claremont, California for the Gary Troyer Tournament Saturday, October 7. The team will face No.15 Cal Baptist at 9:15 a.m., Chapman at 3:30 p.m., and No.22 Whittier at 4:45 p.m.

The squad will face three top-25 teams over the course of two days. The Spartans are 1-6 against ranked opponents this season.

Last Time Out: San José State last competed against No.4 Stanford, and fell 16-5 at the Avery Aquatics Center in Stanford, California. The Spartans were down 8-0, until a Justin Pickering goal ended the Cardinal assault.

In the match, five different Spartans scored: Justin Pickering, Jackson Kennedy, Conor Shuey, Jacob Mercep, and Bendeguz Toth.
