San Jose, Calif. ----- San Jose State University scored its two goals 10 minutes apart in the first half in a 5-2 loss to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in a Western Athletic Conference men's soccer match at the Spartan Soccer Complex.

Carlos Valdovinos and Andrew Mendoza each scored their first goal of the season for the Spartans. Mendoza's goal in the 17th minute was a cross from the midfield by Joe Kay into the box which gave the Spartans the final goal of the match.

The Rebels (5-5-0, 2-0-0 WAC) were led by Danny Musovski who scored a three goal hat-trick for UNLV.

"Obviously it was a disappointing match coming back after two goals and then scoring 2-2, it was difficult to score third goal after 3-2," said senior Joe Kay.

"We made some silly mistakes in the today's match, but the good thing was we responded back in the first half of the game," said junior Jonathan Partida.

Alex Clewis was in goal for San Jose State and was credited with two saves to the one save for the UNLV goalkeeping tandem of Adame Enrique and Bohn Nathan.

San Jose State closes out the weekend hosting Grand Canyon in a 3:00 p.m. match at the Spartan Soccer Complex located near the corner of 10th and Alma in San Jose.
