San Jose, Calif. ----- The San José State University men's soccer team lost, 1-0, in double overtime to Grand Canyon University in a Western Athletic Conference men's soccer match at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
The Spartans attacked heavily from the start of the match. SJSU had 17 shots against to the six for Grand Canyon University. Max Allen of the Spartans led all players with four shots, two on goal. Finlay Wood, Andrew Mendoza, Jonathan Partida and Jeremy Romero also were able to get two shots off for San Jose State (2-9-1, 0-3-1 WAC).
The only goal of the match came in the 107th minute when Alex Radilla crossed the ball into the box and Niki Jackson scored his sixth goal of the season for Grand Canyon (5-6-0, 2-1-0 WAC).
Goalkeeper David Heredia for San Jose State was credited with zero saves. GCU's Jeremy Pollard made seven saves in the match.
SJSU play next on Sunday, October 15 against Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT.
