Vido, Grajeda Lead Volleyball At Boise State

Boise, Idaho- Fernanda Vido and Thaliana Grajeda led the San José State volleyball team in kills Wednesday night as the team fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-20) at Boise State in the team's final Mountain West road match of the season.

Vido led the Spartans with 11 kills followed by Grajeda with 10. Grajeda also hit .500 for the match and led the team with three blocks.

Breann Robinson recorded 34 assists and four digs, while Luiza Andrade led the team with 10 digs.

In the first set, the Spartans stayed with the Broncos, never trailing by more than three points in the set. San José State had a 21-20 lead and tied the set at 22-22 before the Broncos scored three of the final four points to win 25-22.

Boise State took the lead for good at 6-5 in the second set and won 25-18. The Spartans got as close as three points at 20-17 before the Broncos won the set.

The Spartans took an early 4-1 lead in set three on a Robinson service ace. Boise State to a 5-4 lead and did not let SJSU tie the score the rest of the set. The Spartans got within one point at 17-16 on a Vido kill before Boise State scored four consecutive points and eventually won the set 25-20.

San José State is now 17-11 overall and 9-8 in the MW. The Spartans host Utah State this Saturday, November 18, at 2 p.m. inside Spartan Gym, located on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets Admission to the match is free.

Saturday is also Senior Day, and the four Spartan seniors - Summer Avery, Nandyala Gama, Jamie Hirai and Breann Robinson will be honored after the match.
