Bryce Crawford Named Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicking Award Semifinalist

West Palm Beach, Fla.----- With more field goals of 50 or more yards than any other Football Bowl Subdivision kicker in 2017 and converting better than 85 percent of his field goal tries this season, San Jose State University's Bryce Crawford is one of 20 semifinalists for this year's Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award.

Crawford is 4-of-6 from 50 or more yards and has field goals of 51 at Utah and vs. Fresno State, 52 at Hawaii and a career-long 53 yards vs. Utah State on September 23. For the season, the junior from Frisco, Texas is 12-of-14 kicking field goals and is tied for 19th in field goal percentage at 85.7 percent. His two misses are from 51 and 52 yards.

Three finalists will be named on November 21 and honored at the 26th annual Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Awards banquet on December 4. The winner from among the three finalists will be announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 7 in Orlando, Fla.

Crawford, who has converted 85.3 percent of his field goals tries in his career, is the San Jose State team leader in overall scoring with 49 points. He and his Spartan teammates host San Diego State, Saturday, November 4, in a Mountain West conference game in CEFCU Stadium.
