Cari Reiswig 11th In 3-Meter At UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif.----- For the second day in a row, San Jose State University senior Cari Reiswig qualified for a final at the UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational.

From a field of 51 of the top divers from Mountain West, Pac-12, Big West and Big Sky schools, Reiswig was the #12 qualifier in the 3-meter event with a 274.55 score.

In the six-dive final, Reiswig posted a 290.45 score and moved up one place to finish 11th with a 565.00 total.

Like the 1-meter event on January 12, she was the second best Mountain West diver behind UNLV's Mykayla Fielding who was seventh at 592.00. Only three conference divers were among the 18 finalists.

Besides Reiswig, teammates Kylie Fonseca was 24th at 234.10; Megan Au, 35th at 219.15; and Natasha Sondeno, 37th at 215.60. A preliminary round score of 244.75 was good for 18th place and a trip to the finals.

UCLA's Eloise Belanger made it two-for-two winning the 3-meter with a 650.25 score. Stanford's Mia Paulsen was second at 633.55.

The Spartans conclude three days of competition at the UCLA Bruin Diving Invitational with Reiswig, Fonseca, Sondeno and Eri Tamada competing in the platform event. The preliminary round of five dives begins at 10:30 a.m. (PT) presently with 54 divers entered. The top 18 advance to the final round of five more dives.
