San Jose, Calif.--San José State women's gymnasts Kaitlin Won and Ellie Pascoe-Long have been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast and Specialist of the Week, respectively, for their performances at Utah State last Friday night.
Won captured the all-around title at the meet with a season-best 39.075 at the meet. She finished second on the balance beam as she tied her career high with a 9.850. Won added a 9.800 on floor, 9.725 on bars and 9.700 on vault. Her routines helped the beam team to the 7th-best beam score in school history with a 48.975. This is her first award this season and fourth of her career.

Pascoe-Long had the meet of her career as she won her first two career event titles. She scored a career-best 9.825 on vault to win the event. She also tied her career high with a 9.850 on floor to tie for first with two Utah State gymnasts. This is her first award this season and second of her career.

Both gymnasts were part of the vault team that scored a 48.850, to tie for the 10th-best vault score in school history. The Spartans finished second at the meet with a 194.275.
San José State hosts Sacramento State this Friday, January 26. The meet begins at 7 p.m. inside The Event Center. Tickets may be bought at the door or through the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589).
