San Jose, Calif.-- The San José State women's gymnastics team had a successful opening home meet Friday night with a 194.425-191.775 win over Sacramento State at The Event Center.
Spartan gymnasts placed first in all four events and the all-around. Kaprece Nadonza won the vault with a career-best 9.825. Kaitlin Won placed first on the bars with a 9.850 and tied for first on beam at 9.750. Taylor Chan tied for first on beam at 9.750 and won the floor at 9.850 and the all-around with a career-best 39.025.
The vault team had the best team score of the night with a 48.825. Nadonza led the team with a 9.825, followed by Chan and Ellie Pascoe-Long at 9.800, Josalyn Ray at 9.750, Won at 9.650 and Chelsey Andrada at 9.525.

The Spartans scored a 48.425 on bars and beam in the next two rotations. On bars, Won led the team at 9.850, followed by Nadonza at 9.700, Stephanie Relova at 9.675, Chan at 9.625, Madilyn Probst at 9.575 and Pascoe-Long at 8.975. On beam, Won and Chan each had a 9.750, then Andrada at 9.700, Michelle Shalit at 9.625, Probst at 9.600 and Relova at 8.775.
The floor team rounded out the scoring with a 48.750, led by Chan's 9.850. Pascoe-Long had a 9.800, Won at 9.725, Ray at 9.700 and Andrada at 9.675.
Chan won the all-around with a career-best 39.025, while Won was second at 38.975.
San José State travels to UC Davis next Friday, February 2, for a quad meet with Seattle Pacific, Stanford and the Aggies. The meet begins at 7 p.m.
