Jan. 30, 2018

Norfolk, Va.----- The streak now is in double figures for the San Jose State University women's swimming and diving team.

For the tenth consecutive semester, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) honored the Spartans for team academic excellence.

With its 2017 fall semester team grade-point average of 3.41, San Jose State is one of 174 NCAA Division I women's programs to be honored as a Scholar All-America team.

"We have a great group of student-athletes who really embrace the priority we place on academics in this program," said San Jose State University swimming and diving head coach Sage Hopkins.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the most recent semester.

San Jose State was one of eight Mountain West schools that sponsor women's swimming and diving to earn the award. The Spartans were one of the four conference programs with a team grade-point average greater than 3.30.

The Spartans are in preparation for the Mountain West Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Wednesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 17 in San Antonio, Texas.
