Davis, Calif.--San Jose State had three solid rotations but had to count falls on beam as the Spartans scored a 192.975 Friday night in a quad meet hosted by UC Davis. Stanford won the meet with a 196.150, followed by UC Davis at 195.150 and Seattle Pacific at 190.750.
The bars team started the meet off with a season-best 48.775, led by Kaprece Nadonza at 9.800. Stephanie Relova and Kaitlin Won each recorded a 9.775. Ellie Pascoe-Long recorded a career-best 9.725, and Taylor Chan also had a career-best 9.700. Madilyn Probst rounded out the scoring with a 9.575. The Spartans were second after the first rotation as Stanford led 48.950, then SJSU at 48.775, UC Davis at 48.750 and Seattle Pacific at 48.225.
The Spartans had a rough second rotation as the team had to count three falls and scored just a 46.750. Won led the team with a 9.725, followed by Probst at 9.500. Relova was next at 9.275, Michelle Shalit at 9.200, Chelsey Andrada at 9.050 and Chan at 8.350.
The floor team posted a solid score of 48.825, led by Chan at 9.825, followed by Ellie Pascoe-Long at 9.800, Won at 9.775, Chelsey Andrada at 9.725, Josalyn Ray at 9.700 and Leah Perrino at 9.625.
Rotating to vault, the Spartans scored a 48.625 to finish the meet. Pascoe-Long led the team with a 9.800, followed by Nadonza and Chan at 9.750, Andrada at 9.675, Ray at 9.650 and Won at 9.650.
The Spartans return to The Event Center next Friday, February 9, for a meet against Boise State and Iowa State. The meet begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are available at the door or by calling the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589).
