E.J. Ane, who was credited with 34.5 tackles for loss in two seasons at Silver Valley High in Yermo, Calif., signed a National Letter-of-Intent to enroll at San Jose State University and join the football program for the 2018 season.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Ane is the fourth defensive line prospect in the Spartans' 2018 recruiting class. As a senior, he led his team with 25.5 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles. He was second on his team with 98 tackles and also recovered two fumbles playing on defense.

Ane was a dynamic offensive player, too, in 2017. He rushed for 2,885 yards and 35 touchdowns and caught 12 passes for 149 yards and a score. Ane was the C.I.F. Southern Section Division 13 Offensive Player of the Year and the Co-Most Valuable Player on Offense in the Cross Valley League.

An all-league selection as a sophomore and a junior, he concluded his high school football career playing in the 2018 Polynesian Bowl all-star game in Honolulu.
