Colorado Springs, Colo.-San José State's Abegail Arevalo has been named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of March 26. This is her second honor after receiving Golfer of the Month recognition this past September.
Arevalo received this honor after winning her first collegiate tournament over the weekend as she shot a three-under 213 at the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. She was only one of three players to shoot under par for the tournament. Arevalo shot a two-under in the first and third rounds and made 10 birdies and 37 pars over the three rounds. In the final round, she recorded five birdies including four over the final nine holes.
San José State finished second at the tournament. The Spartans next compete at the Silverado Showdown, April 8-10, at the Silverado Resort and Country Club.
