San Jose, Calif. --- The San Jose State University baseball team (10-18, 3-9 MW) held an 8-5 lead over the Mountain West leader Nevada (16-11, 10-3 MW) through four innings until Dillan Shrum (5-for-5, 2R, 5RBI) homered to left field in the top of the fifth inning with one out and shifted momentum in favor of The Pack.

"We did a lot of things well today," said interim head coach Brad Sanfilippo. "We had 15 hits, executed plays, and had zero errors. We did a lot of things right today, but Nevada is a good team."

Kellen Strahm had his second three hit game of the season. He went 3-for-5 with one walk in game one against Nevada. In the last eight games, Strahm is 13-for-35 (.371) with five doubles and a .514 slug percentage.

The Spartans got off to a hot start recording five runs with one out in the first inning. With one out David Campbell (2-for-4, 2R) was hit by pitch and scored Brett Bautista (1-for-5, R, 3RBI).
