San Jose, Calif. --- Third baseman David Campbell and left-handed pitcher Andrew Mitchel earned Mountain West All-Tournament Team honors for their play last weekend in San Diego, Calif.
Campbell batted .357 with two doubles and five RBIs in three games. In the elimination game win against Nevada, he went 3-for-6 and drove in four runs.
Since April 14, Campbell led the Spartans with a .394 batting average. The senior racked up 18 RBIs and nine doubles with a .485 slugging percentage to help lead the team into third place in the Mountain West - their highest finish since joining the conference in 2013.
Mitchel pitched against the host team, San Diego State on Thursday, May 24. The junior threw 6.1 innings and allowed two runs to the 2018 conference tournament champion Aztecs. The Mountain West Co-Pitcher of the Year struck out nine batters and limited San Diego State to four hits.
