June 20, 2018

Norfolk, Va.----- The San Jose State University women's swimming and diving team streak of College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national academic team honors continues.

Make it 11 semesters in a row for the Spartans as one of CSCAA's Scholar All-America teams.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America team, a program must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the most recent semester.

""I continue to be both proud and humbled by the academic focus and performance of the student-athletes which I am so privileged to work with. We preach the concept of "student-athlete" from the outset of recruitment through graduation, and it is great to see our focus on both academic performance and the value of an education pay off," said San Jose State University women's swimming and diving head coach Sage Hopkins.

San Jose State was one of nine Mountain West schools to earn the CSCAA Scholar All-America team honor.

"Congratulations to our women's swimmers and divers who earned the Scholar All-America team honor again. Year after year, our women's swimming and diving program is one our top performing teams academically," said Eileen Daley, senior associate athletics director for academics and student services and the department's senior woman administrator.
