earn "Who's Who" recognition.
Ten of San Jose State University athletics department student members were recognized for their scholarship, leadership and service to the campus and community by being included in this years list of "Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities." A total of 40 students from San Jose State were honored today in a ceremony held at the Umunhum Room on the main campus. Of the ten representing Spartan athletics are nine student-athletes and one student athletic trainer.

Those honored today are senior Kasey Carter (women’s gymnastics), senior Kimmy Cianci (women’s gymnastics), senior Eitan Gelber (athletic trainer), senior Helle Gram (women’s golf), junior Christina Huffman (women’s cross country), senior Dianna Lilly (softball), senior Stacey Martin (women’s gymnastics), senior Anna Nordell (women’s tennis), senior Katie Schneider (women’s basketball) and sophomore Mariko Yoshihara (women’s soccer).

Each year, San Jose State University and over 2,300 institutions of higher education recognize its outstanding students nominating them for inclusion in the national publication, "Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

As one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation, "Who's Who Among Students" exists as having earned the overwhelming respect of college faculties and administrations. For the students – the outstanding campus leaders of the year – national recognition by the "Who's Who" program marks a pinnacle of scholastic achievement.
