27 Fall Sports Athletes Named Academic All-WAC
Denver, Colo.-----Twenty-seven San Jose State University student-athletes from the fall sports of men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and volleyball received 2006 Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honors.
Denver, Colo.-----Twenty-seven San Jose State University student-athletes from the fall sports of men’s and women’s cross country, football, women’s soccer and volleyball received 2006 Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honors.
To qualify, a student-athlete must complete at least one academic year of residence, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale and participate in at least 50 percent of his or her team’s contests.
Women’s cross country and football had the most San Jose State student-athletes with eight. Women’s soccer had six; volleyball, four, and men’s cross country, one. The eight football Academic All-WAC honorees are the most for the program since joining the conference. The Spartans had the most women’s cross country representation of the nine conference members.
