Skyler is competing for playing time at strong safety. McKnight joined the team last fall from Santa Monica College (Coach Robert Taylor) and redshirted the 2001 season. He was an all-conference selection in 2000 who had five pass interceptions in 10 regular season games. A two-sport letterwinner at the community college level, he also was a shot putter on the track and field team. The graduate of Reseda (Calif.) High School lettered in football (Coach Joel Schaffer) and track and field. He was a quarterback at the high school level who accounted for more than 3,400 yards in total offense. He was an all-league and an all-city choice in football and as a shot putter at Reseda High. McKnight is interested in a computer animation career. Skyler was born in Los Angeles on November 17, 1981.
