Eric returns to the Spartans as an offensive tackle candidate. Originally enrolled at Humboldt State University, he transferred to San Jose State for the 2001 spring semester and lost 15 pounds during his redshirt year. The three-sport letterwinner at Mount Pleasant High School in San Jose lettered in football (Coach Clancy Ohara), basketball and track and field. He was a two-time all-league football player. In track and field, he was a shot putter with a personal best of 52-feet-10 and was named his team's "Most Improved" athlete as a senior. Eric, a San Jose native, was born on February 27, 1982.
