The Alan B. Simpkins Intercollegiate Athletic Administration Building is the home for the San Jose State University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The 1.7-acre property, valued at $3.0 million was purchased by Alan and Phyllis Simpkins. The building, which opened in July 1997, is 1.2 miles from the main campus and located at the northwest corner of Seventh Street and E. Alma Avenue and across the street from Spartan Stadium. It includes a 22,700-square foot building and 90 parking spaces. Purchase of the facility by the San Jose State University Foundation was possible through the Simpkins' gift to the foundation.

The addition of this property allows us to provide more effective office space and facilities for our athletics administration, Spartan Foundation and a number of our sports teams, said SJSU President Dr. Robert L. Caret. We are deeply grateful to Alan and Phyllis Simpkins, who have helped the university in so many ways, for making this purchase possible.

The building houses the athletic department administration and offices for volleyball, softball, men's and women's basketball, women's water polo, women's swimming, women's gymnastics, women's tennis and men's and women's cross country. Student-athletes have study areas and a computer lab. A ticket office for athletic events is operated in conjunction with the university's Event Center Box Office.

The building is accessible from the Seventh Street exit from Interstate-280. From the exit, head south approximately 0.5 miles. The building is on the right side of the street, just before the corner of Seventh Street and East Alma Avenue.
